Comfortable vs. Uncomfortable With 3 Tips To Help With Uncomfortable

Comfortable means: providing physical ease and relaxation.

Uncomfortable means: causing or feeling unease or awkwardness.

Why am I asking about being comfortable or Uncomfortable?

When we are comfortable, we tend to stay the same and don’t do anything different to make changes in our lives, even though we will want the changes. Also, we can be uncomfortable and still struggle with the issue.

One thing I was uncomfortable with was the excess weight on my body that was a result of emotional eating. I never felt comfortable being overweight (another thing I suffered in silence).

I tried many diets and exercise programs, would lose the weight and eventually gain it all back, with some extra baggage. This is what they call yo-yo dieting.

Even though I was uncomfortable, it was still a struggle.

However, I am on my journey. It’s not overnight, and for me, it’s a process.

In my book, “Food Addiction: The Struggle Has Been Real” I talk about the things that I did that showed how uncomfortable I was with being overweight.

I wore a mask for many years because no one knew how I really felt inside, but not anymore, the mask is off, I’m free to talk about the food addiction struggle. The first thing about being able to talk about it is it’s freeing. I wrote this book in 4 days, and I felt such a relief as I was writing. And the thing is, that’s not what I was going to write, I was outlining a children’s book, but the Lord led me to change direction and to write about my struggle with food addiction story instead. I will get to my children’s book 😊.

Secondly, it helps set others free. When I was writing this book and telling others about it, they began telling me their stories, and I was surprised at some, I never thought they had an issue with food because they are slim.

I believe the Lord led me to write my story because so many suffer in silence, so many don’t know what to do, and for the awareness of food addiction to be bought to the forefront so we can get the proper help.

The thing is, we have to eat otherwise we will pass away. Food is not like drugs, alcohol, or cigarettes where they are not needed for the body to survive. I believe this is why there is such a struggle, because we have to eat.

I’ll give you 3 tips to help with uncomfortable so you can be on your overcoming journey and can say “Stuck Is NOT My Story.”

1) First you have to analyze your life to see where you are comfortable and work on each part that you want to make the changes.

2) Use aids to help. Mel Robbins has a formula to use, I’m not sure if you are aware of it, but when we start thinking no, I don’t want to do this, say “5 4 3 2 1,” and go do it. [You can read more about it in her book.]

3) Set goals and work on them on at a time to completion. remembering that it’s a marathon, not a sprint, it’s a journey.

I hope this is helpful for you, and if it’s not for you and you know someone that it can help, please pass on to them.
