We can be trapped in a situation or even trapped in a way of thinking. This leaves us unable to see another way, move, or change. And, it usually leads us to repeating the same situation or thinking the same things over and over and over again.
Most often, when we are stuck, it's because we are deeply attached to a story, a story that we are telling ourselves.
There are many things that happen to each of us that causes us to get stuck and stay attached to a story that will keep us stuck.
*We get stuck when we think we should be something we’re not.
*We get stuck when we think life should be different than it is.
*We get stuck when we don’t know we can do something different.
*We get stuck when we don’t know that there are other solutions.
*We get stuck when we don’t weigh the pros and cons before getting into a situation.
*We get stuck when we don’t know that we can seek help, or to seek the right help.
I was stuck in the vicious cycle of emotional eating for quite a few years. At first, I didn’t know that I was stuck. After a long while, I learned that it was emotional eating, that there was a name for what I was stuck in.
I had become stuck in this vicious cycle because of being unhappy. Note: This is one of the reasons we can become stuck, not being happy. Back then I didn’t know I anything was wrong or that I could do something about it. As I said, I didn’t know that I was stuck; I didn’t know that I was stuck in the terrible cycle of emotional eating.
With being stuck, I didn’t talk about it, and I didn’t seek the right help.
During that time, no one talked about their internal issues so we would continue living like everything is okay, but be suffering in silence. If thing were different, I could have gotten proper help to become unstuck from the emotional eating cycle.
With not talking to anyone or seeking help for the issue, no one knew that I was stuck in the emotional eating cycle that resulted in staying even more stuck.
I was led to write a book about emotional eating titled: "Food Addiction: The Struggle Has Been Real." Many suffer in silence from emotional eating and my story is a way to bring awareness to it so that we can become unstuck. It’s important to know that we can find a solution to whatever issue that has us stuck. One way to do that is to seek the right help. Talk to someone that can help you with the issue.
It is important to know that you can get help . We all have had horrible things happen to us, but unless we seek the right help, we will remain stuck.
I encourage you to analyze and evaluate your life to see where you stand in regards to being stuck, and depending on the outcome of your evaluation, take steps to be healed and move forward and become unstuck.
“There is always hope to become unstuck!”
