Special Guest: Andrea Briscoe

Share some info about you. Where you are from, what you do, and what are your interests?

I am born and raised in Washington, DC. I am a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and a great

friend. I’m a life coach, motivational speaker, and the Founder & CEO of Love You Back To Life, a

nonprofit organization, that aids the homeless in the DMV area.

My passion for helping people comes from my experience of being homeless and going to jail.

I have always been interested in and love fashion and helping the homeless community, so I decided to combine these two interests by creating a “Fashion for a Cause” fashion show, these shows that spotlights local designers, stylists, and artists as models wear their clothes and artwork is placed on stage and around the venue in order to raise money for the homeless community.

I love traveling, good food, and spending time with my family. I am a charter member of Toastmasters International, where I mentor new clubs and coach new members. Currently, I serve as President of Owings Mills Community Toastmasters Club.

Why did you choose to be a part of this collaboration project?

I choose to be a part of this collaboration project because I wanted people, especially women to know, that they are not alone and that their past does not define them by sharing my story, my journey, and providing helpful tips the reader will recognize your own strength, power, and self-

Share a little about your topic.

Have you ever felt like your life was a bad dream playing out right before your eyes on television? You Are Not Alone. This was me 25 years ago. Poor decisions, bad judgments, and trusting the wrong people. Life left me hopeless, homeless, lost, off track, and out of rhythm. Then, I took my life back! I regained myself; no longer defined by my past; or held back. And so can you! You too can get your life back on track.

What encouraging words can you leave for the readers?

Combat every negative thought, and word with positive reinforcement. We all know what better is; we know how better feels. You must push past all the negative to get to the positive. See yourself as God sees you - beautiful, powerful, strong, and brave.
