Today, we are introducing you to "Tonya Cross"

Share info about you, where you are from originally and where you are now, and what you do.

I’m Tonya Cross the owner of Accented Glory and The Vine Event Planning. I was born, raised, and reside in North Carolina. I’ve been married for twenty-eight years to my high school sweetheart and have three beautiful adult daughters.

Accented Glory is my handcrafted women’s fashion accessory brand that specializes in natural hair accessory and afrocentric jewelry designs. My designs have been featured on Essence, Martha Stewart Shop, and Refinery29. They can be purchased on Etsy and Amazon. The Vine Events is my organization that hosts in-person and online informative events, such as personal development and small business workshops. I merge my two passions to create and educate via my coaching brand Strategypreneur™. I show fellow creatives ways to gain organic online brand visibility and convert followers into customers.

I’m also an author. My first book anthology was “Our Stories His Glory”. In my chapter titled “Choose Life” I share about my self-love and forgiveness journey and how it led to a life of abundance. “Living Your Abundant Life” is my 12 week e-workbook that breaks down the principle of stewardship. My pray is that the biblical teachings in my workbook will produce positive lifestyle changes and usher others into a life of abundance. I also have a 90 Day “Strategypreneur™ Planner” and e-book “How To Design A Marketing Strategy In 4 Simple Steps” related to developing and implementing a marketing plan for your brand, business, or organization.

What have you overcome? Share a little about your topic.

Self love is defined as a regard for one’s well-being and happiness. I know for some this statement may sound selfish. Trust me, it is not. For a woman that once lacked love for myself, it’s a necessity for self-preservation. My start in loving myself began with forgiveness.

How did you know you needed to change?

I’m a woman who grew up without an active father. I never knew or understood why my dad didn’t come around much. My self-love journey gave me the courage to stop carrying burdens that didn’t belong to me. I learned that other people’s decisions and choices were no reflection of me or my worth.

What steps did you take to implement change?

I had to release myself from the burden of not being good enough and overcome negative thoughts with positive affirmations. Despite it’s difficulty, through my self love journey I learned how to remind myself daily of my worth and value; that I deserve an abundant life.

What encouraging words can you leave for the readers.

No vision is too big or too small! What's more important is that it's true to who you are. It should be either a reflection of you or who you need to become. Sometimes we have to grow and become better versions of ourselves to maximize our potential. We’re not always where we should be or need to be in life and THAT’s OK! Simply start where you are and progress FORWARD.

What is your favorite quote?
