Discernment is the ability to judge well, exhibiting keen insight and good judgment, the ability to obtain sharp perceptions.
It is extremely important that we have discernment, that we have the ability to judge well because people will act as your friend and act like they have your best interests at heart, but they don’t, they can be your worst enemy and you won’t know it without discernment. The only way to tell if your friend, etc. is real, at times, is by having discernment, being able to judge well.
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 22 Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22
Don’t suppress the Spirit, and don’t stifle those who have a word from the Master. On the other hand, don’t be gullible. Check out everything, and keep only what’s good. Throw out anything tainted with evil.
The Message 19-22
Someone I know believes a friend is real, believes is a best friend, but due to other’s discernment and judging well, the friend is being manipulative and is using the friend. The friend influences negatively and the reason the friend is able to act as a friend is because the one being deceived and manipulated is not using discernment, isn’t judging well. This happens a lot. Just because someone acts nice with you and smiles with you, doesn’t mean they are your friend, you have to discern who they really are. As the Word of God says, you have to test the spirit, 1 John 4:1.
I pray daily for God to increase my discernment, I don’t want to be deceived by anyone.
I’ll always say this because this is another reason why we need to accept Christ as Savior, study and meditate on His Word (the Bible) and apply it to our lives (so important) so that we don’t get deceived and believe in the wrong people or make wrong choices.
Discernment gives us the ability to determine truth or error, right or wrong so that we are not deceived into believing the wrong thing.
Discernment is making careful distinctions in our thinking about truth.
Discernment makes us examine decisions.
Discernment enables us to tell if someone is a devil send or if someone is a God send.
It is extremely, extremely important to tell if someone is true to us or not because when someone isn’t true, they encourage wrong behavior and the wrong way of living that jeopardizes our lives.
Suggestion: Pray for God to increase your discernment daily so that you’ll always be aware of those around you.
I’ve seen too many times where people have put their trust in others and were led astray.
Pray for discernment so you won’t make wrong decisions that ultimately hurts you and those around you.
